Wisc-Online is a consortium of the 16 two-year Wisconsin Technical Colleges formed
to support the development and distribution of learning objects authored and technically
developed by faculty and multimedia Flash designers.
Anyone may register to access the learning objects.
Yes, the learning objects are available to be used at no cost by teachers and students
worldwide via the Internet.
Each learning object has its own unique URL address. You may copy this address and
use it on any document/website you wish. As a member of Wisc-Online, you will have
your own Wisc-Online page, called My Wisc-Online, on which to display your favorite
learning objects. You may give the link to this page to other educators, learners,
or users.
You may decide what content you would like to be displayed on the public version
of your My Wisc-Online page by clicking the Privacy Settings link directly under
your name. When you are on the Privacy Settings page, you may select the content
you would like to share.
The Wisc-Online Store is incorporated into the Wisc-Online Repository. Registered
individual users may purchase downloads or CDs of learning objects. Organizations
are required to enter into a license agreement. They may contact the director of
Wisc-Online.
Purchasing downloads of learning objects allows teachers to have the learning objects
available for students off line and not have to be dependent upon an Internet connection.
It is the desire of Wisc-Online to freely share the objects on this site; however,
the objects are copyrighted and may only be used within the limitations of the Terms and Conditions.
Yes, if the learning object has an e-mail feature for learners to use when online,
this capability will become disabled when the learning object is downloaded.
If you choose the download option when purchasing a learning object, the download
link for your purchase will be available immediately after your credit card payment
is processed. This link will expire after three hours.
Yes, you may choose to have a CD of the learning objects mailed to you. Your order
will be shipped within one business day.
If you have a webpage, and have linked objects from Wisc-Online in the past, the
old links will continue to work. To link new objects or to use the new links to old objects,
just copy and paste the URL from your browser address bar.
If you have copyright-cleared objects that you would like to place on the Wisc-Online
site, you may contact us to be considered for inclusion within the repository. All
objects to be posted will be reviewed by subject matter experts and must meet our
quality standards.
